Correct answer: A. Primary key

The primary key uniquely identifies every row in a table. It cannot be null and cannot repeat. A candidate key is any attribute or set of attributes that *could* serve as the primary key; the designer chooses one of them, and that chosen one becomes the primary key while the rest become alternate keys. A foreign key references the primary key of another table and enforces referential integrity. A composite key is simply a key made of more than one column.
