This is an in-service recruitment: only regular, serving employees of H.P. Government departments, boards, corporations, autonomous bodies, universities, or co-operative banks are eligible to apply — it is not open to fresh graduates or private-sector applicants. Of the 26 posts, 17 are unreserved, 1 is reserved for unreserved (hearing impaired), 1 for unreserved (intellectual/multiple disability), 2 for Scheduled Caste, 2 for Scheduled Tribe, and 3 for OBC candidates of Himachal Pradesh; reservation benefits apply only to bonafide HP residents.
Selection consists of a Preliminary Entrance Examination followed by a Main Entrance Examination. Candidates must submit Annexures I–IV and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer to be admitted to the Main Examination. Successful candidates undergo Pre-Induction Training at MSHIPA, followed by the HPF&AS Part-I and Part-II examinations, before final induction into the service.
