Selected candidates will receive a fixed consolidated monthly honorarium of ₹23,500 during the training period. Candidates must have passed Matric and 10+2 from a school or institution located in Himachal Pradesh (this domicile condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis), along with a full-time Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

Selection will be made through an objective-type Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering technical Civil Engineering subjects along with General Knowledge, Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, and General English & Hindi, followed by document verification of shortlisted candidates. The admit card is expected to be released on the official HPRCA portal roughly one week before the exam date.

Candidates from reserved categories who are residents of other states will be treated as General/UR category applicants and will not receive reservation benefits or fee concessions. Bonafide Himachali candidates are exempt from the domicile (Matric/10+2 in HP) requirement.
