Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a leading Public Sector Bank headquartered in Chennai, invites online applications for recruitment to 250 vacancies of Local Bank Officer in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I), under Advertisement No. HRDD/RECT/02/2026-27 dated 07.08.2026. Selected candidates will be posted within the state for which they apply, for the first 12 years of service or till promotion to SMGS-IV, whichever is earlier. Candidates may apply for only one state and must be proficient (read/write/speak) in that state's mandatory local language. No other mode of application besides online will be accepted, and the application fee/intimation charges are non-refundable.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government, as on the registration date. Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age as on 01.08.2026 (born not earlier than 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2006, both dates inclusive). Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the mandatory local language of the state applied for.

JMGS-I pay scale: ₹48,480–2000/7–62,480–2340/2–67,160–2680/7–85,920, plus DA, HRA, CCA and other allowances as per Bank rules. 2-year probation. Selected candidates execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2 lakh and must serve a minimum of 3 years.

Selection Process

Selection is through an Online Examination (200 marks, objective type) followed by a Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT, where applicable) and a Personal Interview (100 marks), with the written exam and interview combined in an 80:20 weightage. Minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are 30% for reserved category candidates and 35% for unreserved candidates. Merit lists are prepared state-wise and category-wise.
